Padmasambhava and Princess Mandarava, dedicated to the Dharma, became targets of suspicion and judgment. A furious king condemned them both to death, building a towering pyre that blazed for seven days. The flames could be seen from miles away, a spectacle meant to erase their very memory.

But when the smoke cleared, the fire was gone. In its place shimmered a vast lake of lotus flowers. At its center sat Padmasambhava and Mandarava, unharmed, radiant, encircled by rainbows. That lake still exists today—Rewalsar Lake in Himachal Pradesh—a living reminder that even destruction can be transmuted into beauty.
